What I like about the product?
I’ve really been enjoying these Jelly Lips Talks! Especially JOR203 has been my favorite out of the two. Dear My Jelly Lips Talk feels like it just melt on the lips, the moment it touches them. It’s one of those lippies that you don’t really need to apply it in front of a mirror. It has a light jelly texture that makes your lips look nicely moisturized and the glossiness makes the lips look a little plumper. On my lips they feel really smooth, soft and moisturizing. Not to the level that I could abandon my lip balm completely.
The jelly lipstick is lightweight, smells like candy and cute Now I know that’s possible too lol. I think it’s like a floral and candy scent combine together, but it’s not a sweet scent. Well, not under my nose. Keep in mind that I’m into floral and fruity scents, but not the sweet kinds.
When I first ordered the Dear My Jelly Lips Talks, I thought my favorite color would be the lighter peachy coral JPK004. But the color doesn’t come out as strong as you see in the tube. On my lips, you can barely see it. I have to apply many layers, so the color would gradually build up. But Etude House designs the Jelly Lips Talk to be sheer, so we can mix and match them with each other to get a custom color if we want to. Fun idea in a way.
This is why the jelly lipsticks are buildable and sheer in formulation, you don’t need to be afraid of over applying. Plus jelly lippies aren’t meant to be as pigmented as regular lipsticks, right?
My favorite, JOR203 is a deep coral. The color payoff is better than the light peach but again, doesn’t look the same like in the bullet. At the moment, this is my go to bright lippie. To me, this is a softer version of the casual red lips. It brightens up my complexion and adds a subtle pop of color into my every day makeup look. This coral color leans more toward red and it appears brighter in real life than in these photos by the way.
What I wish to be improved:
Maybe pigmentation wise, I wish they could be a bit stronger in colors. I know the idea is to be able to mix them with other colors, but I would like to be able to wear them alone. It isn’t very convenient to carry 2-3 lipsticks with you around to touch up. Unless you’re of those people like moi who sometimes find themselves carry 7 lip products in their makeup bag.
The wear time of Dear My Jelly Lips Talk is short, between 1-2 hours, depending how much you apply it on.
Would I repurchase this product?
Yes, I want to try the other brighter colors in the collection too.
