Swatches of MAC Office Hours Stay Pretty blush and One To Watch, Sweet Satisfaction, Lie Low eyeshadows -
EDIT: This evening seems to get a happy turn. I just found out these eye shadows aren’t from the Office Hours collection. My deepest apologies, if I’ve confused anyone. Because I sure am confused… and FURIOUS! I don’t understand why MAC Store like to display last year’s collection mixing with this year’s collection?! Good thing about this, that I actually like the eyeshadows The post is already written, I don’t want to go back and erase anything. I wrote what I felt about them and that was basically it.
Today I woke up really late, feeling exhausted. Good excuse for me to not to do anything worthwhile. Instead I just hung out on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and catch up on some blog reading. Thank goodness it’s only Sunday and I still have another week of holiday. If you asked me, the month went by so fast, yet again. I admit that I’m one of those people who repeat that phrase after every month has gone by – getting old really sucks. Time flies and you become predictable.
If you have read my post yesterday – if not, then why haven’t you? Just kidding If you have read yesterday’s post, then you’ll know I’ll be introducing you to one of MAC’s new collection today, the Office Hours. After doing more research, I found out this collection is due to launch on September 13th. But I guess that’s the date for the U.S. launch. Lucky us (Europe), we got to lay our dirty-makeup-hungry fingers on the Office Hours collection by first hand. Why do I sound so creepy today? I guess there’s no shame when it comes to new makeups.
I was surprised by the soft hues of the Office Hours collection. When thinking of fall, most people would think of darker, deep shades. Nonetheless, I was really pleased by this approached from MAC. Not everyone likes to wear the dark makeup look every day, ya know. I get when we step into fall, the weather and the fashion have a big impact when it comes to trends and colors. But for my personal liking, I prefer wearing brighter colors – even in the colder months. It cheers me up in the morning, before stepping out to the cold, dark world. When nothing goes right on that day, then I look down at my pink striped scarf.. As silly as it look – I can’t help but smile. It’s the little things in life, that makes our day.
Like I said in my previous post, I friggin’ adore the color selection of the Office Hours collection. I only got four items – Stay Pretty which is a pro longwear blush, Lie Low, Sweet Satisfaction and One To Watch are pro longwear eye shadows. The colors are soft and neutral.
The Stay Pretty is actually a cooler tone, matte pink blush. I actually caught my eyes on the other baby pink blush at first (sorry, don’t know the name of it), but then I spotted this blush right after. The two colors looks very similar to each other, Stay Pretty is just slightly darker. I was told that that Stay Pretty has more a cooler tone to it. I figured a blush like this might be a nice contrast against my warmer complexion, so I ended up choosing this.
With the eye shadows, I was most impressed by the soft texture of Sweet Satisfaction. I loved the feel of it when I first swatched it at the counter and still loved it, when swatched it again at home. Sweet Satisfaction has the softest formula compared to Lie Low and One To Watch. Lie Low is next to it when it comes to soft points, then comes One To Watch. I’m not sure do the shimmers got something to do with the softness. But I noticed Sweet Satisfaction has the most shimmers, then comes Lie Low and you guessed it – One To Watch has the least amount of shimmers and have more a powdery feel and satin finish. Interesting eh?
Oh FIY, these are my first MAC’s eye shadows EVER. I know, I’m the rare specie in the Womanland. So it’s understandable that I don’t know is this the case with all MAC’s eye shadows, shimmers = softness. Or is it just the case with the Office Hours collection. Let me know if you have more insights about MAC makeups
