The last few weeks I been using the L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagene 24H Mascara. What attracted me to purchase this mascara was the word collagen. Using collagen to pump up your lashes, making them fuller and volumize sounded very interesting.
I think this mascara performed good, but to me it wasn’t the strongest on it’s own. After playing around with it a few times, I discovered the Mega Volume Collagene work best when pairing it with another mascara. I applied the first few coats with the ACO Volume Mascara for Extra Sensitive Eyes, let it set for a bit. Then went back with the Mega Volume Collagene mascara, the results were stunningly fuller lashes.
I can achieve fuller lashes with the Mega Volume Collagene alone, but the formula was too wet and heavy for my lashes to stay curly. I have thick, straight stubborn lashes (very much Asian). I always need to curl my lashes before applying mascara, not just because it opens up my eyes – which is much needed for my hooded eyelids, but it also prevent the mascara from smudging the under eye areas. With this mascara however, it still smudges even when my lashes are curled.
Another thing why I don’t enjoy using the Mega Volume Collagene mascara as much, is because I got fallout from it during the day and even more fallout when I had this on my lower lashes. This mascara isn’t ideal for my bottom lashes either, the brush itself was way too big to reach all the lashes.
I have to say that I do love how big and black this mascara made my lashes look. The difference is huge and it lasted up to eight hours. Like I said the formula of this was too wet for my liking, but I think because it’s still new. I favor using old mascaras more than the new ones. Older mascaras don’t produce fallout, hold curls and no smudging. At least that is the case with almost all the mascaras I’ve tried on my lashes, but I can’t speak for all.
Let me know if you have tried this mascara, what are your thoughts?
