L'Oreal Paris Color Infallible Eye Shadow Goldmine and Magnetic Coral Review and Swatches -
What I love about these eye shadows that they are truly nice pop of color on my eyes and not much needed after that. They works and looks great on their own. I’m talking about the L’Oreal Paris Color Infallible Eye Shadows in Magnetic Coral and Goldmine.
Even though both eye shadows works just as great, I found there are differences between the two. Magnetic Coral has more a powdery, velvety finish – the overall texture feel smoother comparing to the Goldmine. Magnetic Coral actually has tiny bit of purple color in the mix too, but I can only pick up this purple color in the natural sunlight. But in normal indoors lighting, I could hardly see it. Although you might see the reflects of the purple on the swatches but on the lids, it is barely visible.
Goldmine was my favorite, when I first swatches these eye shadows on my hand. But it was a huge disappointment right after the first use. Holy cow, it was a glittery disaster! It looked like a shimmer bomb just exploded on my face. There was so much shimmer fallout and they were harder to clean up. I had to wiped off my entire makeups, gone late to work and redo my makeups there.
So what did I learn from this?! Never apply Goldmine when in the hurry, most definitely not a usual office worker makeup look, build the color gradually and do not use makeup brush for this! That’s right, the fallout came from using a brush. But after weeks of neglecting Goldmine, I gave it another chance and things went better the second time around. One way to describe this eye shadow is it’s full of shimmers. The shimmers are finely milled, but I can still feel the tiny specks when apply by finger. The finish is still smooth looking and both Goldmine and Magnetic Coral lasted for long hours without creasing nor smudging.
L’Oreal Paris Color Infallible Eye shadows are suppose to be water resistant and smudge resistant. I’m not sure how true is the water resistant part. I think if you going out in the rain, the colors probably wouldn’t budge – but when I washed the swatches off from my hand, with one single wipe with plain water – the color came off about 95%. The only thing that was left, was the shimmer residue from Goldmine and a light tint from Magnetic Coral. The texture of these Color Infallible Eye shadows are kind of like mix of cream-loose-pigment-powder eye shadow all in one package. Not much product needed when apply, since the color are pigmented. The eye shadows were easy to blend and also buildable.
