Yes, FINALLY!! It’s been too long, I missed you guys and blogging so much. A lot of things have happen to the blog and slowly it is coming together. There will be little tweaking here and there, but this is the final look and I’ll be sticking with it for a while. I’m still testing some plugins, so don’t freak out if the blog act a little odd at times. It could be just me doing some adjustments behind the scenes
Anyhow – July gone by so fast and in that time, I had manage to snatch a few beauty items to treat my beauty addiction. I’ll be uploading couple of hauls from last month. Hope you don’t mind, that they are a little late. So today’s haul is from July. Shall we begin?
Last month during the heat of the summer, my face started to develope more blackheads and my pores seems to be larger than usual. I think it’s due to me trying too many products in such a short time plus the humid weather – my skin just couldn’t keep up with everything. Quickly I realized I need to get some products, that are targeted to get rid off blackheads and minizing the pores. I’ve heard Salicylic Acid is a great solution for this problem. I already got a couple products that contains SA – a cleanser and a toner, but since these products are too strong for every day use. I wanted to get other products that are more gentle to balance out with the Salicylic Acid products.
I wanted to try one of these Konjac Sponges ever since I found out about them. This one is called…are you ready? The Konjac Sponge Company 100% Natural Vegetable Fibre Sponge with Nourishing Mineral Rich French Green Clay. Yup, apparently any other name would be too short for it. Although it doesn’t look anything close to our friend Sponge Bob, but it surely is darn cute! There are different “types” of Konjac Sponges for every skin type and for every need. I chose the French Green Clay, because it’s suitable for normal to combination skin. I’m not sure can you tell from the picture, but in the packaging the sponge is already damp and you can see there are some water coming out from the sponge.
This is what it said in their description “Please note that The Konjac Sponge Company sponges are naturally moist and condensation inside the packaging is normal.” Now, that is pretty interesting – don’t you think?
I wasn’t sure how effective The Konjac Sponge is as an exfoliator, and I am huge on exfoliation. So I also picked up Spiezia Organics Muslin Flannel to try out. I never used muslin cloth for cleansing before, but I know some women swear by them. As the name suggested, this is a Muslin Flannel – not sure how it difference from a muslin cloth, but for my surprise this comes in two layers. This gives the cloth more thickness, easier to work with when cleansing. It also feels softer when it folded in two layers. The price ain’t that bad for one piece and it’s organic too.
For this time, I chose to try out a couple new cleansers. Astalift Gentle Make-Up Remover Gel for removing makeups and Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Instant Foaming Cleanser for morning cleansing. Astalift is own by a Japanese photography company Fujifilm. I remembered hearing the news about Astalift landing in Europe a few months back, of course it got me along with other skin care junkies all excited and we couldn’t wait for the Astalift launch ever since.
With Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Instant Foaming Cleanser, I only bought the 50ml bottle because I wasn’t ready to commit to something that I wasn’t sure that is going to work. I always do this whenever it’s possible, when trying new skin care products – travel sizes are usually wallet friendlier
The Neal’s Yard Remedies Orange Flower Facial Wash is for my mom. I don’t got much to add to that other then, my mother been complaining how her other face cleanser had been dry out her skin. I figured this would be a good gentle alternative for her. It’s also a vegan product and 88% organic, which sounds even more awesome to me.
I also got a complimentary sample of the new Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation in the shades of Beige Rose 30, which I believe has a pink undertone to it. Kind of disappointing, cause I’m not sure now can I even use it – since my skin tone is lean towards yellow.
